What this role is about

As Lead Engineer, you will guide the development of our clinical and member-facing products and systems. You’ll lead a team of engineers, working closely with your Product Manager and Product Designer peer to design and build robust, scalable services that power our mission. This role is perfect for someone with deep backend development experience as well as experience building  who is passionate about improving healthcare. Any experience in the health-tech domain would be beneficial.

What you’ll do

• Lead the development, architecture, and design of our member and clinician facing systems
• Collaborate closely with your peers in product, design, and analytics to deliver integrated solutions
• Oversee the development of APIs, databases, and microservices to deliver a set of products that are secure and scalable
• Contribute to the overall solution architecture of Aneira’s systems, including selection and integration of off-the-shelf products into our platform
• Mentor and guide a team of engineers, promoting best practices and technical excellence
• Manage deployments, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring to ensure high availability

What you’ll bring

• A love of building products that are useful and delightful; solution oriented, with a bias for execution and problem solving.
• Strong appreciation and belief in modern engineering best practices, coupled with real-world pragmatism. Understanding of how to trade off tech debt against time to market, when to be scrappy and when to insist on engineering excellence.
• Strong backend development experience with deep expertise in Node.js
• Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable systems and microservices
• Knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL) and cloud services, ideally GCP
• Experience of front end development, especially mobile apps (react native preferred)
• A track record of mentoring engineers and guiding engineering teams
• Familiarity with DevOps principles, continuous deployment, automated testing, and monitoring
• Deep appreciation of secure systems development and handling of sensitive user data
